Urban Decay Naked Vs. Naked 2

Earlier today when I was looking through my makeup collection I remembered that I was meaning to make a post about the two Urban Decay Naked palettes. My plan was to compare the two and show you them. Let’s start of with the original Naked palette.

The original Naked palette has been on the market for a long time and as far as I am concerned it’s still one of Urban Decay’s bestselling products. I can see why! It has everything I need to do a settle everyday makeup or a stunning evening look. The palette contains 12 dashing eyeshadows and you also get an eyeshadow brush + the famous primer potion. The eyeshadows are all super pigmented and most of them super glittery like most Urban Decay shadows are. But it does contain two matte shades which I can easily mix for a perfect brow shade. Super handy! My favorites shades have to be Naked, Sidecar, Smog and Toasted.

The Naked 2 palette was launched last year I think and like the original, it contains 12 beautiful eyeshadows. Only one shade out of the twelve doubles and that’s the golden colour Half Baked which is in both the original and the second. You get a double ended brush and a lipgloss in the colour Naked, which I don’t get to much use out of to be honest. What the original palette misses, the second one got and the other way around. The first palette lacks a solid, matte black but that’s taking care of in the second palette with the shade Blackout. If you ask me the the Naked 2 palette needs some matte browns though. My favorite shades in this palette are Chopper, Suspect, YDK and Blackout.

Here you can see the two palettes compared. They are both great palettes for both everyday and going out makeup and personally I can’t chose a favorite. They both have a pros and cons and I honestly think it’s a matter of preference. Which one is your favorite?
